| How do ethics play a part in dentistry? If you ask me, I would say that dentistry is not like other sciences because it deals with human beings so there are ethical issues that arise. How can dentists just perform what they want to? They have to make sure that they are following the rules of the society. That's why dentists have to take an ethics course for dentists.
Many of the students who take these Dental Ethics Course for Dentists feel that it is just a waste of time. As if it is not already enough just knowing that your actions will cause harm to patients and other members of the medical community. But we cannot deny that knowledge is power. We see it all the time on TV, newspapers, magazines and the internet. We also know that when something is on the news it's generally about negative things. But when it comes to dental practices and ethics, people see these as problems. In my opinion, this is the reason that these ethics courses for dentists are necessary. The public needs to be informed about what goes on in dental offices. We also need to see that good practices are promoted. This way, everyone can benefit from using dental ethics. |
